Purity and Holiness. :]

Hello Emergers!
I thought our meeting tonight was really fun and really cool to see everyones different perspectives on their books.
Well Jerimy asked us to define purity and holiness, because those are the keys to seeing God.
So number one: Purity.
The dictionary describes purity as: the condition or quality of being pure; freedom from anything that debases, contaminates, or pollutes.
The one word that sticks out to me in that definition is freedom.
So to be pure you have to be free from anything that debases, contaminates, or pollutes. So basically things of the world. Sin.
But freedom isn't just going to a conference and saying, "Hey im free!"
Freedom is a lifestyle. It's how you live your life according to what God says in His Word. Of course there is going to be sin that tries to come against you but true freedom is denying that sin and choosing God.
So how do you be pure? Be free.
Number two: Holiness.
The definition of holiness is: the quality or state of being holy.
and the definition of holy is: having a spiritually pure quality
So it comes back to being pure, which is being free.
So the way to see God comes down to being free and living a life of freedom.
The Bible says in Phil 4:7: Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
So maybe the way to be pure and holy is to be free and always dwelling on God and His Word. Was that a good answer Jerimy?
Well im going to bed. Its late. Goodnight. :]
