today i was relaxing on the beautiful beaches of south walton reading a book called "the rest of god". . . . two lines in the book really messed with me today. . . . the first was this, "God, in other words, offers something better than our fantasy; he offers Himself." the second was a rabbi quoted "they already have heaven, and everything else besides." . . . . what I realized is that heaven is not a destination or a place. . . . heaven is God himself and the relationship He offers me today, now, in 2009 . . . . heaven is not the sweet by and by or somewhere in the future. . . . JESUS and the relationship He offers is NOW. . . . heaven has invaded earth. the reality of what we sang last night at the night of worship rings out even truer . . . . "the same power that conquered the grave lives in me"
