Ok so I'm a little late but.....
I think what David meant by a "right spirit" is that when we're giving anything to God, we need to humble ourselves...Sometimes our problem is pride, anger, past hurts, or maybe fear, (you fill in the blank in your own mind.) But, whatever it is, it needs to be brought before his feet and He'll take it...When we're worshiping God we need to give whole-heartedly...not just a part of ourselves. He's looking to have and to use every part of us. And only when we do give all of ourselves to Him, will our lives truely be changed...
